LGBTQIA+ Awareness Training
This 2-hour interactive workshop aims to provide the following as learning objectives:
- Increase understanding of The Rainbow Project, our services, and other services available to LGBTQIA+ people.
- Learn about identity and the importance of this, particularly in regard to sexual and gender identity.
- Clarity on key language and terminology in regard to LGBTQIA+ people.
- Increase understanding of the health and wellbeing needs for LGBTQIA+ people in relation to experiences in Northern Ireland.
- Increase understanding on the key barriers that impact LGBTQIA+ people.
- Learn more about what LGBTQIA+ discrimination is, why it happens and what the impact is.
- Grow in ability to become stronger allies to LGBTQIA+ friends, family, colleagues or loved ones.
Our training can be delivered:
- Online via Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
- In person at your venue.
- In person at our premises at our centres in Belfast or Derry/Londonderry. (Restrictions may apply)
- In person at a 3rd party venue you can access.
We can offer tailored sessions to meet any additional needs or focuses you may have however this may impact cost and length of the session. We can also offer reduced length sessions however for the best and full experience we recommend the 2-hour session.
On occasion we may be able to offer funded training sessions to qualifying organisations in the health sector or community/voluntary sector.
