The Rainbow Project Responds To Derry Pastors Homophobic Rantings

The Rainbow Project has today issued a statement after homophobic remarks were made in the Derry Journal by a Derry Pastor

The remarks made by Pastor Mark Bradfield in a letter to the Derry Journal last week are nothing more than a disgrace and an incitement to hatred said Sean Morrin from The Rainbow Project.
His comments and ranting about gay people having shortened lives and mental health problems because of how they live will be laughed off by any right thinking individual and will speak volumes of his lack of knowledge, facts and simple intelligence and his craving for publicity

Sean Morrin Youth Support Worker says

‘This so called Christian is using God to attack an already very vulnerable group in our society. His lack of knowledge about gay people is nothing less than homophobia with a round of applause added. I am stunned that he would have such a rant published. In his letter, if he had of changed the word gay for black, disabled or women he would be criticised by all and the letter more than likely not published. Gay people have mental health problems due to language coming from this so called man of God and the only thing that angers me more than his rambling is that I have to respond and give this self seeking publicist some attention’.
