Derec runs all the way for Rainbow

After months of rigorous alcohol-free training, Derec Thomson finally took to the streets on Monday 5th May 2008. It took 4 hours and 9 minutes for 25-year-old Derec to complete the painfully long 26.2 Mile Marathon around Belfast City Centre.

Derec, who has been an active member of the local gay community and in the past, has even hosted his own gay club night “Camp Out,” proudly pinned a Rainbow Ribbon to his chest and raised a staggering amount for The Rainbow Project & HIV Support Centre.

Derec has been “Doing the Rounds” and distributing flyers all over the Belfast scene and even created his own website “Runarama.com” in a bid to raise as much cash as possible for what he called “two very worthy causes!”

The Rainbow Project would like to thank Derec for his amazing effort and determination and we hope his legs recover in time for the next run!
